Back in June, the West Bend News reported a foundation was started for the Sholl home in the Antwerp Community. Paulding County Habitat for Humanity regularly chooses a family to build a house for and this year it happened to be a family in Antwerp. This is the second time Antwerp has been chosen for a house. Habitat for Humanity has built nine homes in Paulding County since it was started many years ago.<\/p>\n
The Sholl family has been living in Antwerp for quite a while now and sought the help of Habitat and their resources. In January of this year the house was finished and they gave the keys in a ceremony that included mayor Ray DeLong of Antwerp, Mark Holtsberry – Paulding County Commissioner, and Craig Riedel – the State representative.<\/p>\n
The ceremony started with Habitat President Laurie Lucas\u2019 welcoming everyone and presiding over the event. After reading Psalm 124:8 and 127:1 Jan Commers gave the Litany of Dedication. Pastor Del Bonar, Payne and Paulding UMC Pastor, gave the prayer for Blessing of the Dwelling and Al Leininger presented the family Bible. Remarks by Government officials followed and everyone realized how important organizations such as Habitat for Humanity are for a community, pulling together in the name of Jesus to build a family a home.<\/p>\n
There were quite a few volunteers but two were announced has heading it up and that was Darhl Fuller and Jerry Riggenbach who put in so much work in such a short time. Autumn Sholl and her twin sons also worked very hard to make the house their home. She put in many hours of painting, finishing and other work that needed done.<\/p>\n
