Avery Allen Hook Sr.<\/b> age 74 died Wednesday, December 13, 2017.<\/p>\n
He was born February 12, 1943 in Paulding, the son of Henry and Margaret (Kerns) Hook.\u00a0 On February0 13, 1962 he married Janet (Lehman) Hook, who preceded him in death on September 26, 1997.\u00a0 He retired in 2008 from LaFarge Corporation after 40+ years.\u00a0 He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his children:\u00a0 Allen (Linda) Hook Jr., Antwerp, Debra Lehman, Cecil, Dawn (Ralph) McDougal, Leipsic, Stacy (Jeff) Betzer, Cecil, and Kelly (John) Jones, Antwerp; brother, Thomas L. Hook, Payne; 10 grandchildren:\u00a0 Barry Hook, Michael (Buffie) Hook, James (Markie) Betzer, Caris Hook, Samantha (Kelsey) Johnston, Jessica (Nate) Smith, and Avery Hook II,\u00a0Cash Hook, Tabitha Jones and MaKenna Jones; 5 great grandchildren:\u00a0 Cainan Carlisle, Katie Hook, Karleigh Hook, Emma Betzer and Jade Betzer; and a great-great granddaughter.<\/p>\n
He is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diana Lynn Hook; and sisters, Joann Highwarden and Dorita Lynch.<\/p>\n
Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 AM Friday, December 15 at Paulding Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jeremy Thompson officiating.\u00a0 Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be Thursday, from 4 \u2013 8PM, December 14 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.\u00a0 There will also be visitation on Friday at the church from 9:30 AM until service time.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to a charity of the donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n
