{"id":17777,"date":"2017-06-05T12:16:47","date_gmt":"2017-06-05T16:16:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/?p=17777"},"modified":"2017-05-31T09:21:42","modified_gmt":"2017-05-31T13:21:42","slug":"ray-of-hope-camp-helps-youth-deal-with-loss-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/ray-of-hope-camp-helps-youth-deal-with-loss-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Ray of Hope Camp Helps Youth Deal with Loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17778\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CHP-Rays-Camp-group.jpg?resize=666%2C292\" alt=\"\" width=\"666\" height=\"292\" \/>CHP Home Care &amp; Hospice will conduct its annual Rays of Hope Camp, June 27-29, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily at YMCA Camp Clay, 9196 Liberty-Union Rd., Van Wert.<\/p>\n<p>The camp is for children and youth (ages 6-17) from throughout the area, who have recently lost a loved one and helps them gain support, develop friendships and have a better understanding of the grief process.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, Rays of Hope Camp provides an environment where kids can express feelings of loss among others their age with similar experiences.<\/p>\n<p>There are also many fun activities like swimming, rock wall climbing, team-building obstacles, crafts, games, music, and more. \u201cNew this year, we will be having a night of evening activities for those 12 and up,\u201d said Kim Mason, CHP Volunteer\/Event Coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>There is no cost to families for their children to attend camp this year, thanks to proceeds raised for the Noah\u2019s Ark Fund at CHP\u2019s dinner\/auction held in April.\u00a0 Register by June 5th to receive a camp T-shirt.<\/p>\n<p>Call Jeanie Saum (419) 238-9223, Kim Mason (419) 238-9223 or Beth Dye (419) 623-7125 to register.
