Grabill Eye Center is pleased to announce their purchase of a lens blocking and edging unit that will now allow them to make glasses in the store.\u00a0 One of their certified opticians, Robin Phillips, has extensive background in the lens edging and glasses assembly process and has already trained on and begun using the machine.<\/p>\n

In-house edging offers many benefits to patients including lower cost of goods, faster turnaround time, and better control over quality.\u00a0 Most single vision prescription lenses will even be kept in-stock so that orders can be made the same day while the patient waits, which creates a service to those emergency cases of breakage or a need to stay out of contact lenses.\u00a0 Other orders will be ready for pick-up significantly sooner than before.<\/p>\n

They are also expanding cash-pay discount packages to include about a hundred more frames along with better and more affordable no-line bifocal options that include digital free-form technology.\u00a0 Dr. Kara Laughlin notes, \u201cWe know quality of the lens products really affects how well people see, and we\u2019re so happy to now have this edging technology in the office so that we can pass on to patients the cost savings while still getting them into better products.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
