How can that be?<\/p>\n<p>Jesus was explaining to them why He had to ascend to His Father. He would pray to His Father to send the Holy Spirit to indwell each believer (v.16-17). That was the same source of power through which Christ did His works. \u201cHow God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.\u201d (Acts 10:38)<\/p>\n<p>Greater can mean in quality or quantity. Certainly the quality of Christ\u2019s works was not exceeded, but the quantity of His works was.<\/p>\n<p>Christ\u2019s physical ministry was limited to a small part of the world. However, through the Holy Spirit working in the conglomerate ministry of Christ\u2019s followers, the whole world could be reached.
