Hicksville, Ohio<\/b><\/p>\n
Dr. Daniel L. Underwood<\/b>, 62, died Tuesday March 21, 2017 at Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.<\/p>\n
Born on June 8, 1954 in Hicksville, Dan was the son of George and the late Marjorie (Hobeck) Underwood.<\/p>\n
Dan was a 1972 graduate of Antwerp High School. He graduated from Otterbein College with a Bachelor of Science degree and continued his medical studies at the Medical College of Toledo, becoming a well respected physician in the Hicksville community.<\/p>\n
On August 23, 1975, Dan was united in marriage to Jaci Panico and she survives.<\/p>\n
Dan loved being a part of the Hicksville community. He passionately served as a physician at Community Memorial Hospital for 35 years, where he also volunteered to serve on the Board of Governors. He was involved in Hicksville sports year round, both as a coach and as the team physician. Daniel loved being outdoors, landscaping and gardening. Spending time with his family and reading to his grandchildren were his favorite things to do.<\/p>\n
Dan is also survived by his children, Jesse (Sara) Underwood, Laura (Clint) Keifer, Tessa Underwood; grandchildren, Aiden, Willa and Bennett; a brother, Royce Underwood and a sister, Connie Sampson.<\/p>\n
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Stan Underwood.<\/p>\n
Funeral services for Dan will be Saturday at 11:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.<\/p>\n
Burial will be in Lost Creek Cemetery, Hicksville.<\/p>\n
