The Wayne Trace\u00a0 Varsity Wrestling Team competed in the Green Meadows conference this past weekend , placing 5th. Wrestling 106\u00a0 Tyler Bauer was\u00a0 a conference Champion defeating Aidan McAlexander of Antwerp 6-4 in the finals. At 126 Austin Smith was 2nd,\u00a0 falling to Shawn Martin of Fairview 13 -8 in the finals. At 132 Ruger Goeltzenleuchter and his third GMC title defeating Riley Heater of Fairview by injury default in the finals. At 145 Wyatt Stabler placed 2nd losing by pin to Gage Bergen of Ayersville in the finals. At 152 Hunter Showalter placed 4th. He was\u00a0 defeated by Brody Degryse of Edgerton 6-3. Noah Reel placed 4th, falling to Eathan Brown of Edgerton 5-0<\/p>\n

The Green Meadows Conference is known for having highly competitive teams. The GMC Wrestling tournament was hosted at Fairview High School, Sherwood, OH on Saturday, February 4, 2017. This year there was a tie for the top spot\u2014Ayersville and Tinora both nailed 137.<\/p>\n

One note:<\/i> The Apaches recently upgraded their gym with new LED lighting and it makes a huge difference there.<\/p>\n
