The students enjoyed climbing in the trucks, getting checked out in the EMS, trying on fire gear, rolling up hoses and visiting Sparky the Fire Dog. The firemen even made lunch for all the students to enjoy during our visit. A big shout out to all the Grover Hill and Scott Firemen who provided a great learning trip for our students.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Oakwood-Elem-Mrs.-Thornells-students.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15814\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Oakwood-Elem-Mrs.-Thornells-students.jpg?resize=666%2C499\" alt=\"oakwood-elem-mrs-thornells-students\" width=\"666\" height=\"499\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Oakwood fire dept. visited Oakwood Elementary School on Wednesday, October 12th.
