\"Terry-Jo-Head-Shot-2016\"<\/a>Terry Jo Head Shot 2016Terry Jo Lightfoot is seeking re-election as a board member of the East Allen County School Board, District 7E. Lightfoot is currently the Secretary of the EACS School Board. In 2012, she was awarded the highly regarded Outstanding Boardmanship Award from the Indiana State School Board Association. She has been recognized by Indiana\u2019s NewsCenter for Women in Superior Leadership. During Lightfoot\u2019s term on the board, East Allen County Schools has accomplished much to further high-quality education: \u2022 Preserved East Allen County School\u2019s unique communities \u2022 East Allen County School Corporation became an \u201cA\u201d district \u2022 Hired Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Ken Folks, who is a leader in education statewide \u2022 Achieved a record number of \u201c4 Star\u201d schools: Leo Jr.-Sr. High School, Leo Elementary School, and Cedarville Elementary School \u2022 Achieved the National \u201cBlue Ribbon\u201d schools at Cedarville Elementary School, 2014, New Haven Intermediate, 2013, and Leo Jr.-Sr. High School, 2008 \u2022 Graduated the first class of East Allen University with a 100% graduation rate, the majority graduating with two-year associate degrees from Vincennes University \u2022 Partnered with the Associated Builders and Contractors program to establish more vocational opportunities for students \u2022 Implemented 1:1 technology K-12 \u2022 Maintained a balanced budget \u2022 Established a new safety program for students and staff Lightfoot is an active member of her community. She serves on the Town of Leo-Cedarville Park Board, Cedar Creek Lion\u2019s Club, Parkview Regional Hospital Patient Family Advisory Council, Leo Alumni & Friends Association, and Leo United Methodist Church Children\u2019s Music. She has a Masters Degree in Education in Music and Physical Education and currently works in Insurance sales at Worman-Lightfoot-Hoch Insurance.
