PAULDING, OH, June 13, 2015\u2013On June 4th, PPEC employees announced they had raised double the amount expected for Northeast Indiana Honor Flight, with the help of course from community members. They ended up raising $144,000.\u00a0 One of the ways they raised the funds was by raffling off a brand new truck. The winners of the truck were two individuals who purchased a ticket together. Pat Siebeneck of Ayersville and John Saxton of Oakwood were the lucky winners. They decided to take the cash option of $35,000 and donated $5,000 back to Honor Flight in remembrance of their father, Maurice (Pronounced Morris) H. Saxton who served in the United States 8th Air Force: 446th Bomb Group.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always attempted to get my Dad and other vets I have known to write about their experiences.\u00a0 However, to them\u2026They were only doing their duty, and never felt like they were heroes. I worry that my grandkids and great grandkids will not hear of, or remember these wonderful people and their great sacrifices that allow us to live as we do today.\u00a0 I hope that programs like Honor Flight will reward those sacrifices, show those great people we care, and remind younger people of the sacrifices and commitment these people made.\u00a0 It is for these reasons my sister and I purchased the ticket in honor of my father; Maurice J. Saxton,\u201d stated winner John Saxton.<\/p>\n

PPEC trust presented the winners with their checks and presented Honor Flight Northeast Indiana with their official check.\u00a0 The second place winner was Vince Buchanan of Leo, Indiana winning $2,000.
