<\/a>Gerald E. Swary<\/strong>, 86 of Payne, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Van Wert Inpatient hospice Center.<\/p>\nHe was born in Allen County, Indiana on May 4, 1930 a son of the late Fred & Agnes (Lee) Swary.<\/p>\n
Gerald retired from International Harvester in 1981, but was equally content working on cars and fishing. He worshiped at Divine Mercy Catholic Church and was a devoted husband, father & grandfather.<\/p>\n
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Jeanette (Honigford) whom he married Aug. 1, 1953; children Richard (Rachelle), Ron, Sr. (Patty) & Donna Swary; grandchildren, Juliana Mihm, Sheena Tracy, Ron, Jr., Eric, Isaac & Mackenzie Swary; sister, Geraldine Filley & sister-in-law, Pauline Swary.<\/p>\n
He was also preceded in death by siblings, Helen Rinehart, Leo, Merel, Earl & Paul Swary.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be Friday, June 3rd from 4-7:30 pm with the Rosary recited at 7:30 at Dooley Funeral Home, 5761 SR 500, Payne, where viewing will also be Saturday June 4th, 9-9:30 am.<\/p>\n
His funeral Mass will be Saturday June 4th at 10 am Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne.<\/p>\n
He\u00a0will\u00a0be\u00a0laid\u00a0to\u00a0rest\u00a0at\u00a0St\u00a0John\u00a0the\u00a0Baptist\u00a0Catholic\u00a0Cemetery.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers or other tributes Gerald’s family asks that you make memorial contributions to Divine Mercy Catholic School Endowment Fund or for Masses.<\/p>\n
