Payne, OH<\/p>\n
John “Jack” Phipps<\/strong>, 84, of Payne passed away Saturday April 23, 2016 at\u00a0Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n Jack was born in Warren, Ohio on September 30, 1931 a son of the late\u00a0Margaret Phipps Essex and J. Porter Phipps.<\/p>\n He was a farmer by trade but gardening and all things green was a passion for Jack. He loved to read, especially about World War II. He was a member of St Paul\u2019s United Methodist Church.\u00a0 Jack was active in his community, serving as a Trustee in both Benton and Harrison Townships and as a bus driver for Payne School. He was a member the Paulding County Township Association, the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge and the Ivanhoe Commandry.<\/p>\n Jack will be sadly missed by his wife Jo Ann (Winans) whom he married\u00a0on Aug 5, 1950; children, Cathryn ( Ron) Schoenauer of Payne & Margaret Viewing is Tuesday 4 to 7:30 pm, with Masonic Rites at 7:30 pm at\u00a0Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.<\/p>\n His funeral service will be held at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, Payne, Ohio at\u00a011 am on Wednesday, with viewing one hour prior to the service.<\/p>\n Memorials to St Jude Children’s hospital or Divine Mercy School.<\/p>\n Condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.dooleyfuneralhome.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Payne, OH John “Jack” Phipps, 84, of Payne passed away Saturday April 23, 2016 at\u00a0Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. \n(Rick) Schilb of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Aaron (Ashley) Schilb, Mikael\u00a0(Meredith) Schilb,Carrie (Aaron) McKinney, Scott (Audra) Schoenauer, Joshua Schoenauer, Johnny Phipps, Joseph Phipps and 10 great grandchildren. Jack was also preceded in death by his son, John.<\/p>\n
