OAKWOOD, Ohio:<\/p>\n

Gilbert C. Schick<\/strong> age 94 died Monday, April 11, 2016.<\/p>\n

\"Gilbert<\/a>He was born February 28 1922 in Broughton, Ohio, the son of the late Arthur and Elsie (Stephens) Schick.\u00a0 On November 7, 1948 he married Colleen Jeffery, who preceded him in death on February 21, 2011.<\/p>\n

He was a life long farmer and member of Paulding United Methodist Church.\u00a0 He served as Adult Sunday School Superintendent; the Pastor-Parish Board for the EUB, Oakwood; Sunday school teacher and on numerous committees.\u00a0 He was a member of Gideon\u2019s International, Farm Bureau Council; Oakleaf Grange, ASC Board; member and President of the Oakwood Oil Company Board; and former president of the Paulding Landmark.\u00a0 He was very active in the Oakwood Community where he and his wife were honored by being named Mr. and Mrs. Oakwood 1998.<\/p>\n

He is survived by his children:\u00a0 Gloria (Eugene) Grimes, Ruthann (Dana) Bair, Robert Schick, and Lesa (Dave) Mansfield, all of Oakwood; grandchildren:\u00a0 Rob, Bonnie, Andrea, Nicole, Jonathan, Austin, Kylee, and Michael; 17 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.<\/p>\n

He is also preceded in death by a son, Bernard Allen; his sister, Jessie Leatherman; and grandson, Seth.<\/p>\n

Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Friday, April 15 at Paulding United Methodist Church, with Rev. Roger Emerson officiating.\u00a0 Burial will be in Live Oak Cemetery, Paulding.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be 2 \u2013 8 PM Thursday, April 14 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.\u00a0 There will also be one-hour visitation prior to services at the church on Friday.<\/p>\n

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Gideon\u2019s International or Paulding United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n
