Ruth Haney<\/b>, 97, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, Ohio. Since 2012, she had been living with her daughter Nancy in Mark Center and Linda in VanWert.<\/p>\n
Born on January 10, 1919 in Cecil, Ohio, Ruth was the daughter of the late Ray and Bertha (Glassmire) Gordon.<\/p>\n
Ruth was a 1937 graduate of Antwerp High School.<\/p>\n
In 1951, she was united in marriage to Albert Haney and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2001.<\/p>\n
Ruth attended the Bethel United Methodist Church. She worked at Magnavox in Ft. Wayne, Indiana for 32 years. After her retirement she helped her husband farm.<\/p>\n
She was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Magnavox, and the Fairview Grange. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing cards and her family.<\/p>\n
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Darwin) Schroeder of Mark Center, Linda (William) Ames of VanWert; five grandchildren, Tony Schroeder, Tina (Caleb) Yoder, Jeremy (Katie) Schroeder, Billy (Wendy) Ames, Joy (Tim) Vaughan; eight great grandchildren, Jacob Yoder, Oakley, Canon and Graham Schroeder, Eli, Asa, Jax and Lia Destiny Ames.<\/p>\n
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis and Harry Gordon; and two sisters, Grace Gordon and Emma Morhart.<\/p>\n
Funeral services for Ruth will be Saturday at 11:00 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8 at the funeral home.<\/p>\n
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Paulding County, Ohio.<\/p>\n
Memorial may be made to Crippled Children & Adults Society, CHP Hospice, or donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n
