Harlan, IN<\/p>\n
Robert L. Thompson,<\/strong> 98, of Harlan passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n Robert was born in Antwerp, Ohio on November 10, 1917, a son of the late Florence (Gustin) and Walter Thompson.<\/p>\n He served proudly in the U.S. Army in WW II and was a Life Member of The Antwerp VFW Post 5087. Robert was employed at Ruckman & Hansen and Co-State Construction as an Ironworker. Robert enjoyed time with his nieces & nephews, fishing, and at the Card Room in Antwerp.<\/p>\n He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Betty (the late Jack) Richmond of Hicksville, Pauline (Max) Nusbaum of Woodburn, Bonita (Walter) Stopher, and Jim (Ruth) Thompson all of Harlan; a host of nieces & nephews, great and great great nieces & nephews.<\/p>\n His brothers, Charles (Earleen), Max (Roma) & Russell (Viola) also preceded him in death.<\/p>\n His funeral service is Friday at 11 am with viewing from 9:30 to 11 am at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, Ohio.<\/p>\n He will be laid to rest at Scipio Cemetery, with militray honors.<\/p>\n Memorials to Parkview Hospice and\/or Allen County SPCA.<\/p>\n Condolences and fond memories may be shared at www.dooleyfuneralhome.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Harlan, IN Robert L.
