Paulding hosted the Antwerp Lady Archers in the first home basketball game of the season on Tuesday, November 24. Both sides fans filled the seats and represented their schools well.<\/p>\n

The Archers began the game with a strong lead over Paulding, but Paulding was able to narrow it down towards the end of the first quarter with the help of Faith Vogel\u2019s free throws, totaling 4 for 4 at the line. The Panthers are a relatively young team with only one senior. The Archers, on the other hand, have a strong crew with four seniors on their squad. Kiana Recker and Rachel Williamson seemed to have no problem banging them in. The first quarter ended with the Archers in the lead 9-15.<\/p>\n

The second quarter was much stronger for the home team when they scored 11, versus Antwerp\u2019s 12 points, spreading the accolades across the team. Vogel and Williamson both kept points going up for their teams. The half finished at 20-27.<\/p>\n

The third quarter was what killed the Lady Panthers for this match. Only 6 points were made and those by Allison Arend, Kaylen Hale, and Samantha Meggison. Antwerp, on the other hand, didn\u2019t have their best quarter, but it was still in the double digits. Sierra Cline had her best quarter of the evening here.<\/p>\n

The fourth quarter Paulding narrowed the lead, \u201cWe cut it to 8 in the 4th quarter, but couldn\u2019t get over the hump.\u201d stated coach Mark Rhodes. The lady Panthers posted 15 \u2014 their best quarter by far. Antwerp also had their best quarter when they took the latter half of the last quarter back and won the game 41-56.<\/p>\n
