Thursday, October 22, 2015, Fort Wayne, IN. The Central Lions Club of Fort Wayne presented Bruce Haines with the 2015 Frank Celarek Sight Service Award.<\/p>\n

The Allen County Public Library\u2019s Audio Reading Service nominated Bruce Haines for the Central Lion Club\u2019s 2015 Frank Celarek Sight Service Award. Georgean Johnson-Coffey, Manager of the Audio Reading Service, said in her nomination \u201cin his five-plus years of volunteer service, Bruce has proved his dedication to the Audio Reading Service purpose — providing audio access to printed information for people who have visual, physical, learning or language challenges to independent reading.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haines reads the live broadcast of the Journal-Gazette on Sunday mornings. The local news is most important to listeners.\u00a0 He has also recruited other family members to become readers for Audio Reading Service.<\/p>\n
