VanBrocklin hauls in more points to the Warrior feast at Friday\u2019s game against South Adams.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The Woodlan Warriors, closing in on the end of the season quickly hosted the South Adams varsity team on Friday, October 10 at the Etzler Field. The game started a little slow with the Warrior defense attempting to understand the opponent\u2019s offense. Early on, the team was giving a few yards to the Starfires, but quickly the home team got back in the groove and even caused a couple of fumbles at the end of the first quarter and into the second.<\/p>\n

The boys, showing their support for their female friends and family, wore hot pink to bring attention to Breast Cancer Awareness month for October.<\/p>\n

The first two touchdowns were by Mitchell VanBrocklin\u2014one each in the first and second quarters. Both of the point afters for these missed the mark. Before half time began, Woodlan had the opportunity to add 3 more points with a field goal. It was successful by Quentin Graber.<\/p>\n

Two fumbles by Drake Deitsch of South Adams and one was picked up by the Warriors in the first half.<\/p>\n

The top tackler with 10 to his resume for the home team was Jordan Delagrange and the runner-up was Blake Acosta with nine. Joe Kayser and Alec Evans each had an interception.<\/p>\n

Woodlan continued the trend they began in the first half with 14 points in the third and 7 points in the fourth.<\/p>\n

The final score was 37-0.<\/p>\n

Julie Lebamoff honored by the school along with the Cheerleaders at Friday night\u2019s football in her last game as Woodlan Cheer Coach. More pictures at westbendnews.net<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Football was not the only event at the game on Friday. It was announced that Julie Lebamoff was announcing her retirement from cheer coach after 16 years of success. She had numerous accolades from local to state level achievements. She has accepted the Cheer Coach position at IPFW and has already started there. This was her last game as a Warrior. \u201cI will really miss being here at Woodlan as coach. These young people have been great and I will continue to be their greatest fan!\u201d Julie stated. \u201cOnce a cheerleader, always a cheerleader at Woodlan.\u201d<\/p>\n

The PAL football league \u201cThe Redskins\u201d of Woodlan and New Haven were honored at this evening event during half time.<\/p>\n

Woodlan football has continued to move up in the state rankings and they are now 8-0. This Friday will be a real challenge with the Warriors heading down the undefeated Adams Central.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
