{"id":12330,"date":"2015-10-13T10:14:13","date_gmt":"2015-10-13T14:14:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/?p=12330"},"modified":"2015-10-13T10:14:13","modified_gmt":"2015-10-13T14:14:13","slug":"john-martin-chilcote","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/john-martin-chilcote\/","title":{"rendered":"John Martin Chilcote"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>John Martin Chilcote,<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/John-Chilcote.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-12331\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/John-Chilcote.jpg?resize=199%2C233\" alt=\"John Chilcote\" width=\"199\" height=\"233\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/John-Chilcote.jpg?w=199&amp;ssl=1 199w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/John-Chilcote.jpg?resize=160%2C187&amp;ssl=1 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 199px) 100vw, 199px\" \/><\/a>58, passed away in Van Wert County, Ohio, on October 9, 2015.\u00a0 He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on September 1, 1957, the son of the late Richard Harlan Chilcote and Martha Jane (Deeter) Chilcote of Fort Wayne, Indiana.<\/p>\n<p>John and Carol (Smith) Chilcote were married on August 18, 1978 at the Woodburn United Methodist Church in Woodburn, Indiana.<\/p>\n<p>Family members who survive John include his wife, Carol Chilcote, of Antwerp, Ohio; his mother, Martha Chilcote of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his step-son, Scott (Nadine) Cottrell of Falls Church, Virginia; his sister, Diane (Rev. David) Arnold of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and his brother-in-law, Rob (Jennifer) Smith of Melbourne, Kentucky.\u00a0 Three nephews and one niece also survive.<\/p>\n<p>John was a toolmaker and was employed at Toolcraft in New Haven, Indiana, at the time of his death.\u00a0 He also previously worked as a toolmaker at K&amp;L Tool in Antwerp, Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>Many people know John from his time at\u00a0Pond-A-River Golf Club in Woodburn, Indiana, where he was General Manager.\u00a0 John loved talking with people and could often be found sharing a story or a laugh with the golfers at Pond-A- River.
