O’Dell C. Williams, 87, of Payne passed away Wednesday, December 12,
\n2012 at The Gardens of Paulding.
\nO’Dell was born in Payne on July 18, 1925, a son of the late Gladys
\n(Zartman) and Vernon Williams.
\nHe proudly served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He worked at Armstrong
\nImplement in Payne and had been the Mayor & Fire chief of Payne.
\nO’Dell was a member of Saint Jacob’s United Church of Christ, the Flat
\nRock Masonic Lodge #580 & Payne American Legion Post 297.
\nIn Dec, 1946 he married Helen Gibson, who died in Dec, 2004.
\nHe will be sadly missed by his sons, Dennis (Deborah) of Payne & David
\nof Indianapolis; brother, Keith (Mary) & granddaughter, Carrie both of
\nPayne.
\nAlso preceding him in death is his son, Jimmy.
\nViewing is Friday, 4-8 pm, with Masonic rites at 7 pm at Dooley Funeral
\nHome, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.
\nHis service is at Saint Jacob’s United Church of Christ, Payne, at 11
\nam, with viewing one hour prior on Saturday, December 15, 2012. Rev.
\nJames Langham will officiate.
\nHe will be laid to rest at Lehman Cemetery, with military honors.
