\n\"JIMFRIEND\"<\/a>Jim R Friend,<\/strong> 81, of Antwerp, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n

Jim was born in Antwerp on February 2, 1934, a son of the late Hazel Delia (Peffley) and Harry Leroy Friend.<\/p>\n

He worked at Phelps Dodge I R & W for 35; Friend Flooring & Antwerp Hardware & proudly served in the US. Army\u2019s 510th Tank Battalion in Mannheim Germany & served on the Antwerp Fire Department for 30 years.<\/p>\n

Jim\u2019s family was very important to him. He was a particular gardener who enjoyed his yard work along with coaching Little League Baseball in Antwerp and the fellowship & worship at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Payne.<\/p>\n

On Dec. 29, 1956 he married Mary Kees.<\/p>\n

Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Mary; children, David (Stephanie) of Fishers, IN, Pamela of Antwerp & Jill (Dennis) Jackson of Antwerp.<\/p>\n

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Durwood, Bob, Budd, Willis, Willard, Richard, Clarice, Betty Humbarger & Janet DeLong.<\/p>\n

Viewing is Thursday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
\nHis funeral service is at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, Payne, at 11 am on Friday, April 3rd with viewing one hour prior.<\/p>\n

He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery, with military honors.
\nMemorials are to Antwerp Fire Dept. or Saint Paul UMC for the roof fund.
