Thankfully, he sustained non-life threatening injuries, but he was knocked over a guardrail, fell into a steep ditch and had to be pulled up to safety by a rope.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of people are killed or injured each year after pulling over to the side of a road and subsequently getting struck by another vehicle. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is asking motorists to help keep their fellow drivers as well as law enforcement officers safe by following Ohio\u2019s Move Over law.<\/p>\n<p>The law requires all drivers to move over one lane when passing any vehicle with flashing or rotating lights parked on the roadside. If moving over is not possible due to traffic or weather conditions, or because a second lane does not exist, motorists should slow down and proceed with caution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy moving over, motorists are helping to protect the lives of everyone who works on or uses our roadways,\u201d said Lt.
