Woodburn Christian Children’s Home Raises $215,000 at Annual Benefit Auction

Woodburn, IN – October 3, 2025 – The Woodburn Christian Children’s Home celebrated another record-breaking year at its annual Benefit Auction, welcoming a crowd of more than 600 supporters and raising an impressive $215,000 for the ministry. The annual benefit auction took place at Woodlan High School gymnasium. The afternoon began with a catered boxed meal of pulled pork, macaroni & cheese, chips, coleslaw, and Hershberger’s fried pies! The Silent Auction tables opened soon thereafter, and the Live Auction began at 5:00 p.m. continuing on past 8:30 p.m. There were 83 live auction items and 105 Silent Auction items on the evening’s docket.
The event, which has become a cherished community tradition, brought together generations of families and friends—some attending for the first time, while others marked their twenty-first year of participation. Lively bidding, generous donations, and heartfelt fellowship made the evening both uplifting and memorable. Sponsorships and donations paved the way for an outstanding and uplifting event.
A fundraising special project for this year’s auction was to for some upgrades on the pool utilized by all of the children at the home that is on the WCCH property. The fundraising efforts efforts brought in $44,505.
Beyond the numbers, the impact of the Woodburn Christian Children’s Home continues to reach deeply into the lives of the young people it serves. One of the residents offered a heartfelt reflection on what WCCH has meant to her:
“WCCH has done many things for me like paying for me to attend Harlan Christian School and taking me to church to learn about God and surrounding me with good Christian people that I look up to. I am thankful for WCCH because they have brought me out of a trench that I thought I would never be able to come back from. I have absorbed the lessons that the staff has taught me. And I hope that one day when I have my own children to look after, I can take what I have learned and teach my kids the same teachings.”
“Being at WCCH has helped me express my feelings and evolve into the woman that I have hoped to be since I was little. All my life I thought I was a lost cause, like I was never going to be good enough. WCCH taught me that God loves me—I am good enough. They taught me not to be stuck in my past and instead learn from what I have been through. I know that when I leave it will be hard to let go of this haven that I have known for four years. But I know that every day I will look back at my time here and cherish all the memories I have made. Thank you, WCCH!”
For decades, the Woodburn Christian Children’s Home has provided faith-based care and guidance to children in need, offering a nurturing environment where they can heal, grow, and discover their value in Christ.
The overwhelming success of this year’s Benefit Auction ensures that mission will continue strong—thanks to the compassion and generosity of the community that surrounds it.
