Wayne Trace Student Council Collects 123 Toys in Holiday Drive for Local Children

The halls of Wayne Trace High School are a little brighter this week after the Student Council announced the collection of 123 toys for its toy drive. The achievement marks one of the school’s most successful drives in recent years, bringing joy to local children and pride to the student body.

Over the past few weeks, students, teachers, and staff contributed new, unwrapped toys ranging from board games and dolls to balls and art kits. Donation boxes placed throughout the school quickly filled up, with some needing to be emptied multiple times.

“We set a goal of 100 toys this year, and our students went above and beyond,” said Student Council advisor Maureen Sorensen. “Knowing that 123 children in our community will have gifts to open this holiday season means everything to us.”

The drive was organized in partnership with the Antwerp Methodist Church, which will distribute the collected toys to families in need. Representatives from the organization thanked the students for their hard work and generosity.
