Wayne Trace Pulls Away After Halftime to Defeat Hicksville at The Palace

Wayne Trace used a strong third quarter to pull away from Hicksville for a 49–30 girls basketball victory on Wednesday night, January 15, at The Palace at Wayne Trace.
The Raiders edged Hicksville 11–10 after the opening quarter and extended the lead to 25–16 by halftime following a solid second-quarter effort. Wayne Trace then took control coming out of the break, outscoring the Aces 20–4 in the third quarter to build a commanding advantage.
Hicksville showed resilience in the fourth quarter, matching Wayne Trace with 10 points, but the Raiders’ earlier surge proved too much to overcome as they closed out the win.

Careen Winans led Wayne Trace with 17 points, including four three-pointers, while Lexi Moore added 14 points and was active on the glass. Caroline Winans contributed 12 points, giving the Raiders three players in double figures as Wayne Trace improved to 11–3 overall and 2–2 in the Green Meadows Conference.
Hicksville was led by Kennedy Adams and Devony Mull, who each scored 10 points. Jocelyn Baldwin added six points for the Aces, who fell to 8–7 overall and 1–3 in GMC play.
Wayne Trace’s defensive effort in the third quarter proved decisive, allowing the Raiders to protect their home court and secure the conference victory.
