On Friday, September 5th the Wayne Trace Board of Education, Administration and staff, welcomed two new members to the Wayne Trace Staff Hall of Fame in an Induction Ceremony just prior to the varsity football game.

In 2010 the Wayne Trace Local Board of Education founded the Staff Hall of Fame to honor the many great accomplishments of its most distinguished employees.  What makes this honor even more special is the fact that the inductees are nominated by both current and former members of the Wayne Trace community.

The first inductee into this distinguished group was Mr. Perry Sinn.  Mr. Sinn was represented by members of his family.  Mr. Sinn was elected by the Wayne Trace community to serve on the Board of Education in 1995.  Perry was a school board member for 12 years, and ran Don and Perry’s furniture store in Paulding. Perry was always gracious with donations to the school and community, and expected nothing in return.

Mr. Sinn also ran the Latty Baseball Association for more than 20 years, and did so mostly out of his own pocket simply because he loved kids and wanted to help develop students in the school district.  He also enjoyed helping his wife Annette, who was very involved with homecoming, cross country, and class advisor.

The second inductee was Mrs. Saundra “Sandy” Bandy.  Mrs. Bandy was hired as a guidance counselor at Wayne Trace in 1986, and was known for guiding students through the college application process, providing counseling for students, supporting them through difficult times, and was a listening ear and supportive advisor for students.

While at Wayne Trace, she was also Senior class advisor and enjoyed the opportunity to help seniors develop and run the graduation program, plan senior activities and a senior trip.  Saundra was responsible for the annual awards program, which she states was a lot of work initially. Saundra states, “it was a pleasure and a blessing to work at Wayne Trace Local Schools!  The kids, parents and community became my family, and still are in my eyes”

Congratulations to Perry Sinn and Saundra Bandy!  The Board of Education hosted a small reception around the football field during the game that evening.
