Supermodified fans know him as Hollywood. Mike McVetta won his second ISMA-MSS championship in three years with his victory in the final point race of the season at Evans Mills Raceway Park. The night didn’t start well for the 2025 Series Champion. McVetta had trouble getting the engine to fire. Once that problem was solved, qualifying didn’t go well but Hollywood still managed to start 8th in the feature. The #22 finally came alive and Mike worked the car through traffic and by the 49th lap he was leading the field and hung on for the next 51 laps and the win. It’s ironic that Tyler Shullick and Mike Ordway Jr. finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. All three drivers went into the final series point race in the same order they finished in points. The feature was very close with 7 cars on the lead lap #100 at the end of the race.

The Owosso Nationals were held last weekend featuring different classes of cars each night. Friday kicked off the 3 day weekend with Mini Wedges, Sport Compacts and Late Model Sportsmen.  Area race fans that attend Angola Motorsport Speedway will be happy to know Tanner Jack won the 40 lap Late Model Sportsman feature. He started 9th but ended up in victory lane. Saturday featured Trucks, UMP Modifieds and the Outlaw Late Models. Darren Burton won the 25 lap Truck feature; Trevor Berry took his UMP Modified from 11th to 1st in his 50 lap feature and the 100 lap Outlaw Late Model feature was won by Chad Finley. Sunday the rain poured down and it didn’t look good, but the weather pattern shifted and the track dried. Sunday started with the Pure Stocks and ended with the CRA Street Stocks. Chase Pinsonneault earned his second CRA win of the 2025 season at the Owosso Nationals 150. Behind your leader 2nd Evan Shotko, 3rd Steve Dorer 4th Hunter Jack and 5th Billy VanMeter.

Eldora Speedway hosted the 43rd Annual 4 Crown Nationals. Normally it’s USAC and the World of Outlaws but this year instead of the Outlaws, The Great Lakes Super Sprints, with the Canadian 360 Sprints and the High Limit Series were invited. Thursday night it was all USAC. Hayden Reinbold parked his USAC Midget in victory lane and in the USAC Sprint nightcap, Briggs Danner took the checkered flag. Friday night the 360 Winged Sprints and the GLSS started the evening. Daison Pursley won the feature. The USAC Siver Crown cars were able to hot lap, qualify and run their B Feature before Saturdays race. Kyle Steffens won the B Main and transferred into Saturday’s race. The High Limit 410 Winged Sprint Series closed out the night with a 25 lap feature that was won by Aaron Reutzel. On Saturday night the USAC Silver Crown Cars closed out the 2025 season on dirt. Daison Pursley won the 50 lap race. Justin Grant was 4th and had just enough points to win the 2025 USAC Silver Crown Championship. Daison Pursley won the National Midget 25 lap feature. The USAC Sprint feature went to (You guessed it) Daison Pursley. This man had everything going his way all 3 days. The High Limit Sprints closed out the night and Rico Abreu put his car in victory lane. Rico had just signed the day before with Tony Stewart Racing for the upcoming 2026 season.

Oakshade Raceway in Wauseon had autograph night and trick or treat night along with racing Saturday. Feature winners were Roman Brown Sportsman, Adam Lantz Dominator Super Stocks and Cory Gumm Sport Compacts. Until next week, keep your wheels down. Ron out!
