Last Friday it was season championships at Limaland Motorsports Park. The track closes every year at this time, so they don’t compete against high football on Friday nights. This lets their drivers and fans visit other tracks through October. UMP Modifieds saw 22 entries vying for the final feature win of the season. In the 20-lap A-Main, it was Troy Cattarene starting from the pole to pick up the victory. Behind him, Aidan Hinds capped off an outstanding season with the runner-up finish, securing enough points to clinch the 2025 UMP Modified Championship by a narrow 6-point margin over Shane O’Connor. Hinds, a standout driver for the University of Northwestern Ohio, made history by earning UNOH’s first-ever season championship in the Modified division. The top three in the feature were Cattarene, Hinds, and Jeff Koz.

The Thunderstocks had one of the most exciting battles of the season, with 16 drivers looking at a final win. The big story was the points race between longtime rivals Tony Anderson and Todd Sherman. Tony Anderson was able to get the feature win, edging out Sherman in a caution-filled race. But in the bigger picture, it was Sherman’s second-place finish that earned him the 2025 Thunderstock Championship, his first career title in the division. Anderson finished second in the standings, capping off a season in which both veterans delivered week after week. Zach Rush came in 3rd, Devon Helmig4th, and Jarrod Klay 5th.

Dirt Track Truck Series closed out their points season with a 12-lap main event. Rolly Heyder picked up his third straight Limaland win in the division. Heyder powered his truck past brother Joey Heyder and Tony Anderson to grab the checkered flag from the fourth starting spot. Anderson, who doubled up by competing in Thunderstocks and Modifieds as well, settled for 2nd, Joey Heyder 3rd, Phil Hicks 4th, and Eddie Tucker Jr. 5th.

Last weekend Sandusky Speedway hosted a full week of nightly racing leading up to Friday and Saturday when the ISMA-MSS Supermodifieds took center stage for the 48th annual Hy-Miler Nationals. Friday night Mike Lichty won the Fast 40 on the big half mile oval. He took home $2,400.00. On Saturday most tracks in the tri-state were closed because of weather. Sandusky was able to get the 100 lap feature in, thanks to the track crew. Dave Shullick Jr. captured his fifth career Hy-Miler and this ties him with his father, who also won 5, including the first Hy-Miler Nationals 100. Mike Lichty moved up 8 spots to get second, and Tyler Shullick was 3rd. The sad news is this might have been the last Hy-Miler National at Sandusky. It was announced 2 weeks ago; Sandusky Speedway is for sale.

Canadian Cole Butcher led the final 78 laps to capture the 59th running of the CB Fabricating Redbud 400 at Anderson Speedway. This was his 2nd Redbud 400 victory, his first was in 2023. Butcher is currently leading in the series points. Gavan Boschele was 2nd and another Canadian, Kyle Steckley was 3rd.

At Owosso Michigan, Chad Finley won the Camp Owosso 100, on Sunday. Matt Dimit picked up the feature win for the Midwest Modifieds Tour, that had drivers from 6 states.

Next week I give you the run down for the USAC Indiana Sprint week and the top stories from the Knoxville Nationals. Keep your wheels down. Ron Out!
