“Superman” Jonathan Davenport won the $100,000.00 annual Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway Saturday, June 7th. Davenport didn’t just win the Dream for the fourth time overall and the third time in a row. He obliterated the field on the final run to the finish, crossing under the checkered flag half a lap ahead of his closest competitor. Davenport started the race from the 13th spot, the furthest back he has won from at Eldora since winning his first World 100 in 2018 from 18th. After the 100 lap Dream, he couldn’t wait to say, “I love taking Tony’s money”. Talking about racing great Tony Stewart, who owns Eldora Speedway. Finishing behind your winner 2nd Bobby Pierce, 3rd Nick Hoffman, 4th Tim McCreadie, and 5th Devin Moran. Twenty six cars started the 100 lap feature. Some lucky fan won $33,750.00 in the 50/50.

Leading up to the Dream at Eldora Speedway, Wednesday, June 4th, Bobby Pierce fought from outside row 3, to snare the $20,000.00 first place prize money. Thursday, June 5th Josh Rice won the feature and $30,000.00. Friday Jonathan Davenport won the 50 lap feature in a race that might have just been a warmup for the Dream. 

Friday night June 6th at Attica Raceway Park, Jordan Ryan picked up the win in the 410 Sprint feature. UMP Late Model champion Kyle Moore put an end to Rusty Schlenk’s win streak at Attica. Moore led all 25 laps of the feature and held off several challenges from Schlenk to score his seventh career Attica late model win. Schlenk, who won the first six features at the track in 2025, settled for second. Seth Schneider won the 305 Sprint feature.

At Limaland Motorsports Park, Max Stambaugh picked up his third Limaland win of the season in the Great Lakes Super Sprints, winning the Kahle Memorial. UNOH student racer Aidan Hinds won his 2nd UMP Modified feature of the year. Tony Anderson won the 15 lap Thunder Stock feature.

Saturday Toledo Speedway had their second biggest race day of the year featuring the 500 Sprint Car Series and the Midwest Modified Tour. Bobby Santos III won the sprint feature. and Cody Stickler got the Modified victory. 

In Wauseon at Oakshade Raceway, Rusty Schlenk dominated the UMP Late Model field to pick up the win. “The Outlaw” Jesse Jones won his second consecutive Sportsman feature. Adam Lantz won in the Dominator Stocks and Ryan Okuley started on the pole of the Compact A Main and led the entire distance enroute to the second consecutive feature win.

Fremont Speedway had an entire day of festivities starting with the tracks Hall of Fame inductees for 2025, and a driver autograph session. Cap Henry was back in victory lane in the 410 Sprint feature, along with Jamie Miller in the 305 Sprints and Shawn Valenti in the Dirt Trucks.

Congrats to Outlaw 350 Super Modified driver Danny Shirey. He collected the James Valentine Fast Qualifier Award and set the new track record at Lorain Raceway Park on open wheel night with a blistering 13.336 lap. Denny Fisher won the feature and Shirey came in 4th. 

Weather shortened the USAC Indiana Midget week. Only 3 of 6 events were run.  Kale Drake came out on top in the series standings for the championship. Drake’s total take home pay for the week was $23,500.00. He had three consecutive podium finishes, including his first career Indiana Midget Week win in Tuesday’s opener at Circle City Raceway. Jacob Denney (area Thunder Midet driver) won two of the three Indiana Midget Week events, leading all 30 laps at Paragon and then charging from 17th to the win at Kokomo, marking the largest charge to win of any driver in USAC National Midget competition since at least 2019.

The 43rd Ohio Sprint week will run June 16th to June 21st, with 9 tracks hosting races. A full schedule can be found on the Ohio Sports Blitz Facebook page. Ron Out!
