Memorial weekend was 4 days of racing throughout the tri-state. However, mother nature at times postponed and even canceled some big events.

The World of Outlaw sprint car series made their first Midwest appearance in 2025. Saturday, May 24th they were at Attica Raceway Park. Logan Schuchart and Sheldon Haudenschild had a fantastic battle. The duo swapped the lead in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series feature several times before Schuchart was able to drive away to his first ever win at Attica. Also in the mix during the feature was Sheldon Haudenschild, from Wooster, Ohio, he lead laps 1-9 with Schuchart, taking over for laps 10-17. Haudenschild regained the top spot for laps 18-24 with Schuchart executing a slide job to retake the lead on lap 25. Schuchart survived several cautions and an open read in the last 10 laps to score his second World of Outlaws win of 2025 and his 44th career victory with “The Greatest Show on Dirt.” Rounding out the top 5, 2nd Sheldon Haudenschild 3rd Skylar Gee, 4th Giovanni Scelzi and 5th Conner Morrell. The 305 Sprints were the support group, and Seth Schneider won the 25 lap feature.

At IRP on Friday in Indy, Kody Swanson was back in victory lane. He won the National Pavement Midget Championship Carb Night Classic race. The USAC Silver Crown cars headlined the night, in the 68th running of the Hoosier Hundred. Tyler Roahrid picked up his first Silver Crown win.  In 12 career series starts dating back to 2021, the Plymouth Indiana racer finished on the podium six different times, including a runner-up appearance. Starting on the outside of the front row, Roahrig fell back to third on the opening lap before steadily moving forward on the .686-mile paved oval. By the second lap, he was back in second and then gave chase toward five-time Hoosier Hundred winner Kody Swanson.

On the 26th circuit, Roahrig made the winning move under Swanson, and from there, he paced the field for the final 121 laps of the 146-lap, 100-miler to earn $15,000 and his first career USAC national victory of any kind.

On Saturday many drivers made the trip north to Anderson Indiana for the prestigious 77th Little 500 for non-wing pavement sprint cars. Dakoda Armstrong took the checkered flag, and the victory lane celebration started until he failed his post-race tech and was disqualified from the Little 500.  Second place driver, Jake Trainor was declared the winner. Kyle O’Gara and Davey Hamilton Jr. finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The Great Lakes Super Sprints were in action last weekend. On Friday at Limaland Motorsports Park, Kasey Jedrzejek won the Memorial Cup for the sprints. On Sunday, May 25th, the GLSS raced at Waynesfield Motorsports Park and Devin Dobie lead all 25 laps of the feature to win Salute to Our Heroes Night to kick off the 2025 season at “The Field.”

Until next week, keep your wheels down. Ron Out!
