St. John’s Parish Receives Moose Grant for 175th Anniversary Fest-For-All

Defiance – St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church is preparing to celebrate 175 years as a parish, marking the milestone with a community Fest-For-All on Sunday, October 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
The celebration is receiving a boost from Defiance Moose Lodge #2094, which awarded a $1,000 grant to support the parish’s anniversary festivities. The Moose Lodge holds a charitable fund under the Defiance Area Foundation umbrella, making this contribution possible.
The Fest-For-All promises a full day of family-friendly fun, including a Big Money Raffle, half-chicken dinners, games of trivia bingo, children’s activities, additional raffles, and more. Organizers expect the event to draw parishioners, alumni, and community members for fellowship and celebration of the church’s long history.
Chelsie Schroeder, Marketing Director for the Defiance Area Foundation, noted that the partnership between local organizations highlights the importance of community support in keeping traditions alive.
