SDI LaFarga Celebrates 10 Years of Giving Back with Annual Food Drive

SDI LaFarga has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the community through its annual food drive benefiting the Associated Churches Neighborhood Food Network (which includes 23 food pantries throughout Allen Co). This milestone marks the company’s 10th annual food drive, reinforcing its deep-rooted dedication to supporting families in need.
In true SDI LaFarga fashion, the entire facility turned the event into a spirited competition, where teams from departments ranging from operations to sales to engineering battled it out for the coveted prize—a steak dinner, perfectly cooked by Operations Leader Jerry Evans himself. But beyond the fun and friendly rivalry, the real victory came in the form of an incredible financial donation of over $16,000, coupled with substantial food contributions that will help provide meals to those who need them most.
Director of Associated Churches, Pastor Roger Reece expressed his gratitude, stating, “Talk about just-in-time delivery! These are an amazing group of individuals coming together to really care for our community. With such instability in our economy right now, it’s difficult to keep up with demand. Donors are nervous, and rightly so, but the most vulnerable members of the workforce are usually the first to feel it.”
Among the enthusiastic competitors, the team “Nerd, Nerd, Chambo, & Nerd,” led by Matt Reinoehl, emerged victorious. As legend has it, Mr. Chambo firmly asserts his status as a non-nerd. Their passion for giving and humorous team spirit exemplify the positive culture that SDI LaFarga fosters through this annual event.
“This friendly competition makes for a fun-filled culture of giving,” said Jerry Evans, emphasizing that the effort extends beyond SDI LaFarga. He encouraged other companies in the area to contribute in their own way to ensure their communities remain strong and supported.
SDI LaFarga’s commitment to giving back, fostering teamwork, and strengthening the community remains at the heart of its mission. As it celebrates ten years of this impactful tradition, it hopes its efforts will continue to inspire generosity and unity throughout the region.
