Rosemarie “Rosie” Paxton

CECIL, OH:

Rosemarie “Rosie” Paxton, age 87, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Gardens of Paulding. 

Rosie was born on October 25, 1937 in Van Wert, OH to the late William and Cecile (Overley) O’Daffer. On January 25, 1959 she married Clair Paxton, who preceded her in death in 2013. After marrying Clair, Rosie devoted her life as being a homemaker. She loved to work outdoors, mow her yard, drive a tractor, haul silage and make hay. She also tended to her animals, of which she had many kinds. She had a love for milking cows, which she hardly ever missed a milking. With her son, Ron and husband, Clair she was still milking at 79 years old. 

She loved to square dance, roller skate, go on picnics, go to the local fairs, and take her two boys to the creek to go fishing. She didn’t belong to any organizations, but was always willing to join in on helping anyone in need. For the last few years, her life was bingo and activities at the nursing home, where she loved to holler out, “Bingo!” and be with her friends, including all of her stuffed animals.

Rosie will be lovingly missed by her son, Ronald “Ron” Paxton and his wife, Myrna. 

Rosie was also preceded in death by her son, David Paxton and brother, Ray O’Daffer.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Den Herder Funeral Home with Bob Verfaillie officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery, Paulding, OH.

Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Den Herder Funeral Home. There will also be visitation from 9:00 A.M. until time of services on Thursday. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Rosie’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
