Paulding County Area Foundation Awards $10,000 Grant to Village of Payne EMS for Life-Saving CPR Machine

The Paulding County Area Foundation is proud to announce a $10,000 grant awarded to the Village of Payne Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to support the purchase of a new automated CPR machine that will strengthen emergency response and improve patient outcomes during cardiac emergencies.
The funding will assist Payne EMS in replacing their current LUCAS automatic CPR device, which is no longer serviceable due to discontinued manufacturing of replacement parts. The new upgraded model, known as the LUCAS 3, will provide consistent, high-quality chest compressions shown to greatly increase survival rates for cardiac arrest patients.
“By investing in updated life-saving technology, we’re helping ensure that Payne EMS has the tools they need to deliver the best possible care when every second counts.” said the Paulding County Area Foundation’s Executive Director Lisa McClure.
According to EMS Coordinator Bill Lyons, the new CPR device will also reduce physical strain on EMS personnel, allowing responders to focus on other critical aspects of patient care while maintaining continuous, effective compressions.
The total cost of the equipment exceeds $22,000, and this grant represents a significant step toward fully funding the project. Community support and additional funding efforts will continue to help bring this vital equipment to Payne EMS.
The Paulding County Area Foundation remains committed to improving quality of life throughout the county by supporting local organizations, public safety services, education, and community development initiatives.
