Panthers Win Round One

The Paulding Lady Panthers were on fire after defeating Montpelier in round of 1 of the Sectionals for the volleyball road to state. Paulding won over the Locomotives in three sets – 25-19, 25-19, 25-10. The game was hosted at Paulding and after winning found they would be moving on to play Fairview in the Sectional Final on Saturday at Fairview.

Paulding Leaders:

Cassidy Posey – 17 kills, 4 blocks; Megan Tope – 20 digs, 25-25 serving; Audrey Manz – 20 assists; Sadie Estle – 11 kills;

The Lady Panthers when on to compete Saturday at the Apache gym for the Sectional final after Fairview defeated Archbold in 4 sets. Both Fairview and Paulding went into the game with a similar appointed rank in the bracket. The Paulding started strong, winning the first set 18-25. The Apaches regrouped and pulled of 3 wins (25-16, 25-22, 25-21) in a row to win the Sectional title. The Apaches will continue on and play Eastwood at Defiance High School on October 25.

Paulding finished their season 12-11.
