ONE MORE

One more person dead, trying to build up our country, and trying to spread the Christian faith. The tragedy is that he will not be the last, and there will be many more lost in a senseless parade of sin.

The killing of Charlie Kirk affected me in a great way. I vaguely knew who he was and l never heard the name. On my phone Google would suggest clips from his debates. Does the name Chrispus Attucks ring a bell? Mrs Google says he was the first person killed in the revolutionary war. Google says that on March 5th, 1770. at the Boston Massacre, the British fired into the crowd and he was killed.

Google says that he was a man of African and indigenous descent. I do not know the story background, but somehow he got into the fray.  I’m not sure what The Boston Massacre was. How many people have died to give us the freedom which we enjoy today. In four wars, 629,816 Americans, mostly young men have died.

This would be approximately 3 cities the size of Fort Wayne, but these were mostly young men in their prime of life, leaving behind a girlfriend, a wife, or little children. In the case of Charlie Kirk there are two young children that will never know their father. Ivanka Trump referred to this as a tragedy of a family torn apart.

Have you heard the name Stephen? How about James, Paul, or Peter these were some of the early martyrs for the Christian faith. Mrs Google says from 30 to 70 million have been killed in the last 100 years for their faith. Makes you wonder why people hate a group of people that are seeking love. We are in a spiritual battle, much more difficult than a physical battle.

This morning, 9/19/25, around 8 AM, President Trump announced that there was a good possibility that they have the killer in custody. They’ve had a news conference with the governor of Utah, the head of the FBI, and it sounds like they have a mountain of evidence. It shouldn’t take 20 years to see justice carried out. The assassination attempt on President Trump a year ago is just going to trial.

We see so much opposition to our president, and it’s pretty clear where it’s coming from. It’s time for all of our leaders to help better our country. As they say, “enough is enough”. A final thought, I am trying to put together a book about Leo-Grabilll area. I would like to have stories of a recollections from different people.
