New Fund Established to Honor Former Mayor Rita Kissner

A new charitable fund has been created at the Defiance Area Foundation to honor Rita Kissner, former Mayor of Defiance and longtime community leader. The Kissner Family Ignite Fund was established by Bill and Stephanie Lammers, Founders of Ignite Academy, to recognize Rita’s enduring impact on youth and community development.

“Rita has been a pillar of strength, wisdom, and generosity,” said Bill and Steph Lammers. “Our hope is that this fund will continue her legacy by empowering students to grow, dream, and lead with purpose.”

The fund will support Ignite Academy’s mission and carry forward Rita’s commitment to helping others reach their potential.
