Michael P. Gebers

CECIL, OH:

Michael P. Gebers, 63, of Cecil, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, surrounded by family. 

The son of Ronald and Sallie (Hoover) Gebers was born Dec. 15, 1961 in Paulding. He married Denise Brown on Sept. 3, 1982 at Defiance church of the Brethren. She survives.

Mike retired from iron work after 30 years with Don R. Fruchey Inc. He was most recently engaged in farming. An avid outdoorsman, Mike loved hunting, fishing and camping. He attended Branch Christian Fellowship and was a member of Ironworkers Local 147, Auglaize Fox Hunters Club, and several unnamed “card clubs.”

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by two daughters: Amber (Tyrel) Frazer of Defiance and Nicole (Alfredo) Rodriguez of Cecil; seven grandchildren: Colter, Connor, Theo and Wesson Frazer, Arabella and Everett Niemasz and Anthony Rodriguez; two sisters: Brenda Wobler of Antwerp and Angie Slade of Cecil; nieces and nephews, other extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, John.

Services will be at noon, Saturday, November 15 following visitation from 9 am until noon, both at Branch Christian Fellowship. Pastor Greg Cramer will officiate. Den Herder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
