Making a Book

Let me give some credit which is due. Much of the material about the African Choir was inspired by the book, “Grandma You Already ls Old,” by Marlene Oxender. I feel like I knew her brother Stevie, and all her books are a great read.

This winter I assembled two books of stories, and got a total of 50 copies They are alI sold but 4. I’m out of the book business for good. But wait, I have thought for years that I would like to write a book about the elementary school I went to. I should have done this years ago. We had a teacher in 7th and 8th grade, that was one in a million. One teacher can make such a difference. I pray for God’s strength.

There is a book out about Harlan that is very detailed. I intend to have a book about our Eastern Indiana area and some of Western Ohio. This will be a book of stories and pictures. I will include stories from other people. We recently found a stash of old pictures from our area which prompted our interest. I would like to have stories from the small town and rural Ohio area. If you have a story, if it might have appeared in West Bend news, or anyone that would like to submit something.

You will need to act fast, perhaps in the next couple of weeks. I would like to get it together before Christmas if possible. Stories will be collected in an email address that my granddaughter has set up for this purpose: shareyourhometownstory@gmail.com

The book will be titled  “Now and Then.” What it’s like now, and what it was like then.
