LET US ENTER INTO HIS REST

Sometimes, we find ourselves feeling weary and worn down from all of life’s challenges, which can lead to spiritual inefficiency. I find that this is precipitated by not entering into God’s rest. God requires us to enter into His rest. Just as He rested after His work was finished.
Genesis 2:2-3 (NIV) states:
“By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”
Serving God can be pretty challenging at times. When you have the compassion of Christ and try to meet the needs of His hurting people, or just serving faithfully at your church, it can be overwhelming. When we enter into His rest, we are transformed by the soothing, rejuvenating power of the Holy Spirit. When we don’t, we become tired, we lose focus, and direction. There’s nothing worse than a Christian operating without the direction of God. **Hebrews 4:1 (NIV)**: “Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.”
This verse emphasizes the importance of faith and diligence in seeking the rest that God offers.
Hebrews 4:11 (NIV): states: “Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.” For when we are resting under the shadow of the “All Mighty,” we are fed the word of God, which is alive and active.
Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) states, “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” When we are properly rested, our hearts are right for God to use. So, take a self-assessment and get your rest when needed. The Holy Spirit will show you when it’s time.
