Let There Be Light

Occasionally I tackle something religious. It is not as often as I like but something caught my attention. Someone defined darkness as the absence of light, which made the gears start to turn.

Light is made up of photons, (electromagnetic radiation) which is partly waves, and partly particles. Sound travels by waves. Light also travels like waves travel, but also exhibits particle characteristics. Waves can travel around corners.

Darkness consists of nothing. It is the absence of anything. Before God created there was nothing, absolutely nothing. Scientists have a concept called absolute zero or –459.67° F. No heat exists at all. When God created light He created many forms of energy.

Perhaps you do, but I don’t like darkness. If you drop something at night it is absolutely impossible to find it. Turn on a flashlight and there it is. Light shines and the darkness disappears. Light is a force, darkness is nothing.

There is a spiritual connection to light. Light illuminates, it gives spiritual illumination, knowledge and truth, it is a symbol of God’s presence. Evil and wickedness flee when God is there.

On earth we get light from the sun. There will be no sun in heaven. In heaven God will be the light, they’ll be no shadows, light will come from everywhere. Darkness will be done away with. Truth will be the only concept. In heaven there will be no shadows, light will come from everywhere. God will be the light.

In the book I am attempting to assemble we will try to have a religious section. We will give the plan of salvation in 4 words. If you’d like to write about a verse that inspires you, we will make every effort to include it. One last time for the email address: shareyourhometownstory@gmail.com
