Meet the Candidates Running for Paulding Exempted Village Schools

Leanne Nicole Den Herder Announces Bid For PEVS School Board
I would like to introduce myself as a candidate for one of the two open seats for Paulding Exempted Village School Board this November 4th.
Currently, I am the president of the Paulding Elementary PTO, treasurer for Concerned Citizens for Paulding Schools, and I substitute teach in the district. I feel the opportunity to be elected as a member of the PEVS School Board would further this commitment to the district and the community as a whole.
I currently have two children who are students in the district, with another child who will be a student in the next two years. Not only am I a resident and voter of the district, but I am also a parent of students. I believe that a strong PEVS district is essential to the future of not only students but also the entire community.
The most important function of a school board is to advocate for the best interests of the students. I believe that the best way to do this is to work alongside our teachers, staff, and administration to strengthen our district and create a positive learning environment for our children. Along with being a parent to students in the district, my husband and I are business owners in the community. I am committed to our hometown and the school district.
This community deserves a school board that will invite you to the table, meet you with transparency and honesty, and represent your interests. Our children deserve a standard of education that will allow them to succeed. Our taxpayers deserve to have their money allocated fairly and responsibly without undue burden. I am asking you, my friends and neighbors, for a chance to do my part.
I would deeply appreciate an opportunity to give back in some small way to the community and the PEVS district. Your support and vote are much appreciated on November 4th!
Go Panthers!!
Respectfully,
Leanne Nicole Den Herder
Karen Saxton announces re-election candidacy for PEV School Board
I have proudly served for eight years on the Paulding Exempted Village School Board. I am on the District Leadership Team and have served as Board President. I am seeking re-election for one of the open seats November 4.
I have been a resident of the school district for 56 years. I have been very active in the school as well as both Oakwood and Paulding communities. All five of our children as well as eight of our fourteen grandchildren are PEVS graduates.
I strongly believe in Board transparency and fiscally responsible spending. I can assure our residents every vote I cast will continue to be what I feel is in the best interest of all PEVS students.
A great school is the heart of a community. We are very proud of our students and PEVS. Our teachers, administrators and board members continue to look for the best ways to provide the education they deserve.
I am excited to be a part of PEVS future successes. I would appreciate your vote November 4.
Panther Proud!
Editors’ Note: Some candidates did not respond by WBN press time – Larry Elder and Jason Germann are also running for a position on the PEVS school board.
