Kennerks Donate $25,000 to Support Local Veterans Through Canines for Valor Fund

The Defiance Area Foundation would like to recognize and sincerely thank Peter and Maureen Kennerk for their generous $25,000 donation to the Canines for Valor Fund.

This gift was made through the Foundation to support the Canines for Valor Fund, which was created in 2023 in partnership with the Defiance County Veterans Office. The fund provides highly trained service dogs to local disabled veterans, helping them gain greater independence and improve their quality of life. Funds may also be used for animal care, maintenance, fees, and transportation necessary to purchase and place these specially trained “canines for valor.”

The Defiance Area Foundation is grateful for the Kennnerks’ compassion and generosity and for their commitment to honoring and supporting local veterans in such a meaningful way.
