EAST ALLEN COUNTY SCHOOLS NAME THE ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY ‘2025 TEACHERS OF THE YEAR’

Eric Bultemeier, Heritage Jr/Sr High

East Allen County Schools’ Superintendent Mrs. Marilyn Hissong surprised the 2025 Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year. The Teachers of the Year award is given to teachers who have demonstrated excellence in the classroom and an exceptional commitment to their students.

The Elementary Teacher of the Year is Ms. Heidi Koeneman, 5th grade teacher at Prince Chapman Academy. She’s been teaching for 12 years, all with EACS. She loves teaching because of the role she plays in helping students grow. Not only academically, but socially and emotionally. Ms. Koeneman says, “The relationships I get to build each year are some that I will forever cherish. Working for EACS has been a wonderful opportunity. I am blessed to work with a collaborative, supportive, and positive staff and leadership team. I love the fact that no matter where you are in East Allen, we all have the same goal which is educating all students for success”.

Mr. Bultemeier said, “The students are the reason I love my job. My goal is always to get my students to think. I work daily to get students to stretch and strengthen their minds”.

Superintendent Hissong said, “This is an exciting time for our teachers. They do amazing work with our students. They are passionate and love their career in teaching.

We’re so blessed to have them on our team”.
