John Paulding VFW Post#587 donated $4,000 to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Department that will be used for the purchase of four PepperBall launchers. This new equipment provides officers with an additional, versatile less-lethal option designed to safely de-escalate volatile situations and ensure compliance while minimizing the risk of serious injury.

The PepperBall system utilizes a compressed-air launcher to fire projectiles filled with PAVA (a synthetic pepper irritant) powder, similar to what is used in traditional pepper spray. This system is effective at a greater range than other non-lethal tools, allowing officers to maintain a safe distance during a dynamic incident.
