Defiance County Sheriff’s Office Receives $5,000 Grant from Moose Lodge

The Defiance County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team has been awarded a $5,000 grant from Defiance Moose Lodge #2094.

This generous contribution will allow the team to purchase updated dive equipment, including specialized masks that enable divers to communicate with each other while underwater. These masks are used not only for listening but also for speaking back and forth, which greatly improves safety and efficiency during operations.

Each mask is specially fitted to the diver’s facial structure to ensure a secure seal and clear communication. The dive team currently has three masks and has been participating in training classes to safely and successfully utilize this new equipment in area rivers and other bodies of water.

The Defiance Area Foundation assisted with this grant distribution, supporting community initiatives that strengthen safety and public service in the county
