Courageous Community Services Awarded Grant for Life Skills Program

Representatives pictured at the grant presentation include Alissa Hunt, Director of Fund Development at Courageous Community Services; Laura Kuhlenbeck, Executive Director; and Amy Daeger, a member of the DAF grants committee.

Courageous Community Services has received a $1,000 grant from the Hanna Family Memorial Fund, administered through the Defiance Area Foundation (DAF). The funding supports the organization’s Courageous Connections program, which focuses on building life and employment skills for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

A standout initiative within the program is Courageous Canine Creations, where participants handcraft organic dog biscuits. The effort aims to launch a small business that provides meaningful community engagement and job opportunities.

This grant highlights the commitment of local donors and community partners in supporting inclusive, empowering programs across the region.
