Class of 2025 Top Scholars
Each school year comes to an end with the honoring of those seniors who strived above and beyond their “call of duty” as they donned the hallways of their schools. These seniors studied and developed their skills over the past decade and a half to prepare themselves for the rest of their lives. The following are the Top Scholars from schools within the West Bend News readership area (more will contiue next week.)
ANTWERP HIGH SCHOOL
Graduation is May 18 at the school at 2:00 p.m.

Braylen Jason Moreno has been named Class of 2025 Valedictorian for Antwerp High School. He earned a 4.0 GPA in high school. He was involved in the following extracurricular Activities: Golf, Basketball, Baseball, National Honor Society, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Braylen earned various Awards/Recognitions/Scholarships including: Six-time student of the Quarter, Honor Roll for all six-teen quarters of high school, Four-year varsity letter winner in Golf, 1st Team All-Conference (Golf), Montreat College Full Tuition Honors Scholarship. Rock climbing, church, Youth Group, Ultimate frisbee, hanging out with family and friends, and going to the gym were all activities he enjoys outside the classroom. After high school Bralen plans to attend Montreat College majoring in Bible and Theology. “I plan to pursue both my master’s and doctorate with the hope of becoming a college professor. I chose this path because I love learning, and I thought the best way to fulfill this love was to teach,” Moreno stated.
Braylen is the son of TJ Moreno and Jesse Moreno.

Allison May Carnes has been named Class of 2025 Salutatorian for Antwerp High School. She earned a 4.0 GPA while in high school. She involved herself in the following extracurricular activities: Vice President – National Honor Society, Pep Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Choir and Ensemble, Broadcast Journalism, Musical Theatre, and Dance. Allison earned the following awards/recognitions/scholarships: National Honor Society, Quill and Scroll Society, Honor Roll all sixteen quarters of high school, as well as numerous Student of the Quarter nominations. Outside the classroom she enjoyed being a part of her youth group, dance and Girl Scouts. After high school Allison plans to attend Purdue University Fort Wayne majoring in Secondary English Education. She is the daughter of Brian and Angela Carnes.
HARLAN CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Graduation is May 16 at the school at 7:00 p.m.

Clarisa Elisabeth Peters has been named Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 at Harlan Christian School. She earned a 12.0 GPA. During her time at school she was involved in youth group, interned with a local veterinary clinic and as a classroom helper at her school. She earned several academic awards from her classes in high school, including a perfect attendance award. Clarisa also enjoys arts and crafts, camping and spending time with her cousins and pets. What will be most memorable for Clarisa about high school is spending time with her school and youth group friends. Presently, she is undecided of her plans after high school; although she is interested in pursuing either accounting or childcare. Her parents are Mark and Angie Peters.

Jaxson Cole Jewell has been named Salutatorian of the class of 2025 at Harlan Christian School. He earned a 11.86GPA. Jaxson’s free time was filled with youth group, pickleball club, art club, basketball, tutoring club, newspaper, Interactive Media and Design at Anthis Career Center, and an internship at Remedy Live. He earned a Citizenship Award, Distinguished Student Award and inducted into the National Technical Honors Society at Anthis Career Center. In his free time, Jaxson also enjoys building with legos, watching movies, playing video games, writing, and hanging out with friends. After high school, he plans to take a retail job until he decides on a major, and applies for an online college. Jaxsons parents are Ryan and Nicole Jewell.
PAULDING HIGH SCHOOL
Graduation is May 18 at the school at 2:30 p.m.

Grace Goyings has been named Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 at Paulding High School. She earned a 4.339 GPA. During school she was involved in FFA as president, senior class president, student council vice president, national honor society vice president, volleyball, drama, Toledo zoo exhibit guide, oakwood Youth for Ag teacher, and Animal & Me mentor. She earned the following awards in high school: District Panther State of Mind Award, State FFA Degree recipient, AG Credit 110% Award, Academic Scholar Athlete, Merit Scholarship, VH Cooper Scholarship, Ag Credit, Paulding Putnam, FFAAlumni, Antwerp Conservation Club, BGSU Falcon Achievement Scholarship… with an anticipation of more to come as school comes to a close. Outside of school, Grace enjoys playing volleyball, going to the lake, and spending time with friends and family. Most memorable for Grace in high school was beating her rival school during her senior year of volleyball. After high school, Grace plans to attend Bowling Green State University to major in Marine & Aquatic Biology and minor in Botany to pursue her passion of helping the environment. Grace is the daughter of Trent and Kelly Goyings.

Luke Beckman has been named Salutatorian of the Class of 2025 at Paulding High School. He earned a 4.234 GPA. During high school Luke participated in football, basketball, track, National Honor Society, Paulding FFA, Drama, Show Market Hogs at Paulding County Fair, and is a member of Divine Mercy Catholic parish. Awards she has earned include: football team caption, GMC Offensive Lineman Honorable Mention, Defensive Lineman Honorable Mention, College Board National Rural & Small Town Recognition, Governor Merit Scholarship, Paulding County Hospital Foundation Scholarship, FFA Alumni Scholarship, and Johns Manville Scholarship. Outside school, Luke enjoys watching sports. Most memorable experience of his high school career was winning the football game vs Wayne Trace his junior year to make it into the playoffs. After high school, Luke plans to attend Miami University to major in Biomedical Engineering on a Pre-med track. His parents are Bill and Rachel Beckman.
WAYNE TRACE LOCAL SCHOOL
Graduation is May 18 at the school at 2:30 p.m.

Nicholas Sinn has been named Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 at Wayne Trace High School. He earned a 4.0GPA. During high school, Nicholas was involved with the basketball program (four years) and baseball program (three years). He was on the Student Council for two years – named president his senior year; National Honor Society member for two years. Some of Nicholas’ achievements include Paulding Putnam General Drawing Scholarship and Purdue Fort Wayne Scholarship. Outside of school, he enjoys watching and playing sports, especially basketball. Nicholas’ most memorable High School experience remembering all the time he has spent with his friends. After High School, he will attend Purdue Fort Wayne to pursue a degree in Actuarial Science as this is a field of which he enjoys and PFW will allow him to stay close to home which is important to him. NIcholas is the son of Steve and Joy Sinn.

Dylan Coffman has been named Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 at Wayne Trace Local School. He earned a 4.0 GPA. He participated in football, baseball (four years each), basketball (one year), National Honor Society member for two years and a student council member (junior and senior high). Awards that Dylan has earned include Humana Foundation Scholarship, Ohio Governor’s Merit Scholarship, Ohio State Maximus Scholarship, as well as departmental awards – sociology, statistics, English II. Outside the classroom, Dylan enjoys golfing, working out, video games, watching movies, and going out to eat with friends. High School football games tops his list of most memorable moments of high school, “FNL’s were the best times.” After high school, he plans to attend The Ohio State University to study Biomedical Engineering / Pre-Med. Dylan is the son of Marc and Natalie Coffman.

Harper Myers has been named Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 at Wayne Trace High School. She earned a 4.0 GPA. She was involved in Volleyball and basketball for four years, track for two years, student council, school musical, National Honor Society, Yearbook editor, Spanish club, and FFA while in high school. She is also involved with the Children’s Liturgy of the Word as a volunteer assistant at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church. Harper has earned the recognition of sophomore homecoming attendant, Governor Merit Scholarship, Ohio State Maximus Scholarship, National Army ROTC Scholarship (three year), Els Student of the Month, Honor Roll all four years, All-Academic Conference for basketball and volleyball. Outside of school, Harper enjoys hanging out with friends, shopping, working out, listening to music, reading and getting sweet treats. She stated that her favorite memory of high school was winning GMCs in basketball her senior year. After high school, Harper plans to attend The Ohio State University and major in Criminal Justice because she plans to work with investigative Services. Harper is the daughter of Mike and Anne Myers.

Kathleen Stoller has been named Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 at Wayne Trace High School. She earned a 4.0 GPA. She was involved in volleyball, basketball, track, National Honor Society, school musical, Spanish club, yearbook and student council in high school. Awards Kathleen earned include District 7 All Academic Award, Paulding County Hospital Scholarship, and Northwest State Presidential Scholarship. Outside the classroom, she enjoys baking, spending time with friends and family, and being outside. The thing she will remember about high school is the athletic events she shared with her friends. She plans to attend Northwest State Community College for Registered Nursing because she wants to help those in need. Kathleen is the daughter of Neil and Sandy Stoller.

Luke Joseph Stouffer has been named Valedictorian of the Class of 2025 at Wayne Trace High School. He earned a 4.0 GPA. He is a part of the Edgerton Wesleyan Youth Group, a member of National Honor Society, football, track & filed, school musical set crew, and STEAM team. Luke has earned the following awards: State Shot Put Runner-Up Div. III (2023-4), All0Ohio Track & Field Athlete (2023-4), Scholar Athlete Fall 2024, Green Meadows Conference Frist Team Defensive Tackle (2024-5), Scholastic Art & Writing Award Gold Key Printmaking (2024-5), Scholastic Art & Writing Award Silver Key Sculpture (2024-5), 2nd Place high school Division of Jerry Tollifson Art Criticism Open (2024-5), Franklin B Walter, All-Scholastic Awards, and Governor’s Merit Scholarship. Outside of school he enjoys art, fishing and lifting weights. Most memorable about high school for Luke is when he broke the school record for shot put, and also winning 2nd place at state for shot put his junior year. After high school, he plans to attend Ohio Northern University to study engineering. Luke will also be a thrower for the track team while at ONU. Luke’s parents are Neal and Kelly Stouffer.
