Caring & Sharing Food Panty Raised $5,700 from Siberian Solstice Christmas Concert

The Caring & Sharing Food Pantry raised more than $5,700 from a silent auction and fundraising concert by Siberian Solstice on Nov. 15. About 30 percent of that money will go to Paulding Schools’ Blessings in a Bag program. The balance will help fund the food pantry operations in 2026.

The pantry’s purpose is to support Paulding County residents who are experiencing food insecurity. They provide eligible families at least three days of food, twice per month based on the number of people in their households. Blessings in a Bag is a grassroots, student-designed project that provides weekend food during the school year for more than 150 students from Paulding and Oakwood elementary schools.

Thanks to the following churches that provided financial sponsorships for the fundraising:  Bethel Christian Church of Arthur, Branch Christian Fellowship, CORE Ministries, Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, First Christian Church of Paulding, First Presbyterian Church of Paulding, Rose Hill Church of God, Paulding United Methodist Church, St. John Lutheran Church of Briceton, and St. Paul Lutheran Church of Paulding.

The following individuals and businesses donated items for the silent auction: Ann and Con Shuherk, Brandon Knott of “It’s Knott Pottery,” Ebel’s Butcher Shop, E&R Ceramics, Gloria Craig of Emerald Forest Pottery, Kate’s Kustom Wreaths, KP Boot Company, Paulding Ace Hardware, Paulding County Carnegie Library, Petals and Vines, Ron Mapes, Signature Embroidery, Staci Kaufman, Sue Beck, and other anonymous donors.

Siberian Solstice is a 12-member, Trans-Siberian-Orchestra style band from Defiance, Ohio, that performs contemporary and traditional Christmas music featuring vocals, electronic keyboards, guitars and drums.
