Antwerp’s Dr. Marty Miller Honored with Ohio Superintendent Award of Excellence
ANTWERP — Dr. Marty Miller, Superintendent of Antwerp Local Schools, has been named one of five recipients of the prestigious Ohio Superintendent Award of Excellence, presented by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation. This award recognizes exceptional educational leaders who demonstrate visionary leadership, a commitment to public education, and a positive impact on their school districts and communities.
In a letter from Christine W. Nestor, Director of Finance, Operations, and Strategic Initiatives for the Foundation, Dr. Miller was praised for his “outstanding leadership, vision, and the meaningful impact [he has] made in [his] district and across the broader educational community.”
Each year, the Foundation selects one Ohio Superintendent of the Year, along with five additional recipients of the Award of Excellence. Dr. Miller’s selection places him among an elite group of education leaders across the state recognized for driving progress, fostering innovation, and supporting student achievement.
Dr. Miller will be formally recognized at the Annual Educator Awards Banquet hosted by the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation on Thursday, July 24, in Cleveland. As part of the award, he will also receive a $1,000 grant to support a project or initiative within Antwerp Local Schools.
The Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, based in Cleveland, is known statewide for supporting excellence in public education and celebrating outstanding educators who inspire both their schools and communities.
The honor comes as Dr. Miller wraps up a school year marked by academic gains, innovative programming, and strategic planning for student wellness, technology, and safety initiatives. Under his leadership, Antwerp has seen rising state test scores, expanded learning opportunities, and a renewed focus on both academic and social-emotional growth.
